The Inn Collection Group has bought its second property of the year with the acquisition of the 45-bedroom Black Swan hotel in Helmsley, North Yorkshire.
The deal brings the northern-based pub company’s portfolio to 13, having acquired the Pheasant in Bassenthwaite, Cumbria, earlier this month.
Comprising three adjoining properties from early Tudor, Elizabethan and Georgian eras, the four-AA-star property will now undergo a major redevelopment.
Sean Donkin, managing director of the Inn Collection Group, said: “We’re looking forward to investing significant capital into realising the full potential of this phenomenal site for the community of Helmsley and visitors to Yorkshire alike to eat, drink, sleep and explore from.
“We have a proven track record in repurposing and enhancing historic inns and we’re looking forward to turning our attention to the Black Swan as we continue to widen our customer base, group presence and visibility across the north of England.”
The Inn Collection Group, which has properties located throughout North Yorkshire, Northumberland, County Durham, Sunderland and Cumbria., intends to double in size over the next two years.
Property agent Christie + Co marketed the hotel.
