Hubbard Systems and Comenda Italy parted ways this week, with the Comenda warewashing agency for the UK moving back solely to Comenda, part of the foodservice equipment company ALi Group.
Hubbard took over sales of Comenda in June 2017, following the ALi Group's strategic review of the Dawson MMP business. The latest move comes as Comenda sets up a UK operation.
Simon Aspin, managing director of HTG Trading, which owns Hubbard Systems, commented: "The market during the past 12 months has been difficult, and sales have not been as encouraging as either Hubbard Systems or Comenda would have wanted. With the establishment of a Comenda operation in the UK, it makes sense to transfer the business there. Naturally Hubbard Systems will continue to support Comenda in any way we can, during the transition period and afterwards."
Hubbard Systems has had a 40-plus year relationship with the ALi Group, as distributor of the Scotsman range of ice machines and Comenda and the ALi Group have underlined their thanks to Hubbard Systems for the company's support in the last year and confirmed that it will continue to support Hubbard Systems in the sales and service of Scotsman ice machines, and that it is looking forward to another 40 years of partnership.
