Hoxton Shepherd's Bush given the green light

Ennismore's fourth Hoxton hotel in the UK has been given the green light by local authorities after previously approved plans were quashed in court.

Hammersmith and Fulham London Borough Council has granted planning permission for the group to demolish the 1950s Threshold & Union House former office building in order to build the 214-bedroom Hoxton, Shepherd's Bush, on the west side of Shepherd's Bush Green, including a restaurant and bar.

The council originally approved the plans in 2017, however a High Court judge quashed the grant after a local resident successfully argued that the daylight effects of the new building on her and her neighbours' properties had not been properly assessed. The council approved a new report submitted by Ennismore assessing the issue.

The new property will join sister hotels already open in London (Shoreditch and Holborn), Amsterdam, Paris, Chicago, New York and Portland, with further openings set for London's Southwark in September and Los Angeles in the US.

Ennismore also owns Gleneagles hotel in Auchterarder, Perthshire; is expected to open its first budget NoCo hotel in 2021 in London's Canary Wharf; and owns restaurant brands including Tandoor Chop House and Eggbreak.
