Registration has opened for industy charity Hospitality Action’s fourth Walk for Wellbeing, a nationwide movement to promote health and wellbeing within hospitality.
The launch coincides with Mental Health Awareness Week during 15-21 May.
Five 20km walks will be held across London, Bath/Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow on 8 October to raise funds for people in the industry facing challenging times.
Donations will go towards supporting individuals with mental health issues that contact Hospitality Action for support; providing emergency grants; and clearing arrears for households at immediate risk of homelessness.
Those who are unable to walk on 8 October will be invited to ‘Walk It Your Way’ at a location of choice between 30 September and 15 October, in celebration of World Mental Health Day on 10 October.
Since the start of 2020, Hospitality Action has answered over 26,000 helpline calls and delivered nearly 7,000 face-to-face and over-the-phone counselling sessions to help people facing stress and anxiety in the sector.
