Hendi Food Service launched in the UK

Launched in the UK yesterday by the team behind Sous Vide Tools: Alex Shannon, managing director, Anthony Ward, brand manager and Chris Holland, chef director; Hendi Food Service Equipment, will supply an extensive collection of catering and specific non-food catering products direct to dealers and distributors in the UK.

Hendi Food Service already has a significant European and Eastern European presence in countries including the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Russia, Kazakhstan and the Baltic states. For the UK it's a new business that will be supplying over 4000 product lines such as coffee machines, fryers, buffet equipment, electrical and gas appliances, small kitchen appliances, grills, kitchenware, tableware, porcelain and cutlery.

The launch was announced at the Dutch Embassy, with overseas representatives of Hendi Food Service in attendance and Dutch culinary team chefs Dennis Van Den Beld and Tom Lammers providing lunch plates. Shannon described the move as "exciting and disruptive."

"We believe Hendi Food Service will provide UK dealers and distributors with a range of products and equipment that are of a consistent high quality at a good price."

Hendi Food Service will open a showroom in London, WC2 within the next month offering a development kitchen and equipment demonstrations.

"There is a well-established status quo in the UK light equipment market and we are here to try and change that by offering UK caterers something different in terms of both quality and service," added Ward. "By supplying innovative products and new solutions that are not only closely tuned to their requirements in terms of quality, but are also more efficient, more hygienic and more affordable, we hope to give caterers in the UK a much needed and genuine alternative in the light equipment supply category."
