A £3m plant-based restaurant, bar and roof terrace is to open in Leeds this summer.
The Green Room will launch on Wellington Street and is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Will Habergham and Pj Gardner (pictured), who have worked in the nightlife and leisure industry for the past decade.
It will feature a 1,500 sq ft roof terrace set up to host remote workers, and there are plans to run pop-up markets and outdoor events in the space during the winter.
The bar and restaurant will offer an all-day menu of plant-based dishes including salads, Asian-inspired healthy bowls, and vegan burgers, pizzas and fries.
Developers All Property Management have invested £3m in transforming the site. Work began in November 2020 and has seen over 70 metric tonnes of waste removed and recycled from the venue.
“The rooftop terrace is our USP, and due to Covid, outdoor spaces are vitally more important,” said Habergham.
“The terrace's size not only allows people to sit comfortably in an outdoor space but also allows to put any future social distance measures in place.
“By day the terrace will make the perfect setting for people who need a relaxed environment to work from, brunches, lunches, and by night the perfect setting for after-work cocktails and sunset music led events.”
The Green Room is located next door to the Grade II-listed Majestic building, which is home to the new Channel 4 HQ, and is minutes away from Leeds city station.
