Great British Menu 2022 contestant Charlotte Vincent has been appointed as head chef of Hotel Meudon near Falmouth in Cornwall.
Vincent was born in Devon and cooked with the British Army before spending a decade with Michael Caines at the Royal Clarence Hotel in Exeter and the two Michelin-starred Gidleigh Park in Devon.
More recently, she was head chef of the Five Bells in Cullompton.
Hotel Meudon reopened in May 2021 following an extensive refurbishment undernew ownership.
Vincent’s food is described as modern British with influence from Scandinavian and French cuisines, which will be reflected in the restaurant’s upcoming autumn menus.
Vincent said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of the wonderful team at Hotel Meudon. I’m incredibly excited to be drawing influence from the beautiful, abundant gardens here and using the wonderful larder that Cornwall has to offer. And working with the team to produce some delightful dishes inspired by the rugged beauty of the coast and Bream Cove.”
Sam Banks, general manager at Hotel Meudon, added that she is equally delighted to have Charlotte join the core team and is looking forward to helping her flourish in her new role.
