Gravetye Manor named Pride of Britain Hotel of the Year 2018

Pride of Britain Hotels has made Gravetye Manor in West Sussex its Hotel of the Year 2018 ahead of its reopening next month.

The hotel has been closed since January to undergo a significant refurbishment of its Michelin-starred restaurant. Set to reopen on 7 May, architect Sir Charles Knowles is working in collaboration with interior designer Claire Nelson to create a contemporary new look for the restaurant.

The four-red-AA-star, 17-bedroom property near West Hoathly is set in a Grade I-listed Elizabethan stone mansion and 1,000 acres of parkland.

Andrew Thomason, managing director of Gravetye Manor, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this prestigious award in the year that we are celebrating the hotel’s 60th anniversary. It is a wonderful accolade for the team who work so hard to make each guest’s experience both unique and memorable.”

Gravetye Manor was also named Hotel of the Year â€" Independent at the 2015 Catey Awards, having won the AA Hotel of the Year England accolade the previous year.

Pride of Britain is a sales and marketing consortium, which currently numbers 48 hotels, with a maximum capacity of 50 members.
