Lavazza launched the start of the Wimbledon Championships last week as the official coffee supplier for the championships with a gathering of its global chef ambassadors including Italian Michelin-starred chefs Carlo Cracco, Alfredo Russo and Norbert Niederkofler.
VIP guests were served creations designed by some of the UK's best chefs with a Lavazza-inspired twist. The menu included an aperitif entitled ‘Peruvian Anticuchos' from chef Robert Ortiz of Lima Restaurant, a salty Peruvian recipe based on anticuchos and huancaina served with the coffeetail N.10 from the Lavazza training centre.
Chefs Lello Favuzzi of L'Anima and Shaun Rankin of Ormer Restaurant & Bar paired up in the ultimate doubles act with a duo coffee design desserts. Favuzzi's ‘Candy Shallot' was candy shallot combined with Lavazza Croccantino and mascarpone cream and Rankin served up the ‘Tonka Cherry', a chocolate infused creation with tonka bean and Morello cherry.
Two coffee cocktails: Variante di Colada (a frozen colada with a coffee twist, infused with guanabana, cinnamon and cardamom) and Italian Tonic (a new take on the espresso tonic), were served during the afternoon interval by Italian bartender, Dennis Zoppi.
