Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo’s My Pasta Bar restaurant brand has fallen into liquidation with liabilities of nearly £5m.
According to documents filed with Companies House, the business had liabilities of £4,939,332 to 49 creditors including £133,976 to HMRC, and £37,887 in employee arrears and holiday pay.
Beesley Corporate Recovery was appointed to oversee the company’s liquidation on 24 November 2021.
My Pasta Bar launched in London in 2013 and operated three sites in London. D'Acampo's other restaurants are understood to remain unaffected.
Meanwhile, D’Acampo is expected to open a second Luciano restaurant this month, named after his son. The chef opened the first Luciano at the ME London hotel on the Strand and, following the closure today of Piccolino restaurant in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, the venue is reportedly reopening as a second Luciano.
D’Acampo said: “I have many friends in Alderley Edge and the surrounding areas, it’s an amazing place and one in which I’m super exited to open. The location on London Road couldn’t be any better, it’s a fantastic property. I’m looking forward to spending time here with my amazing team and incredible, loyal guests.”
Individual Restaurants, which owns the Piccolino brand, also runs eight My Restaurant sites in partnership with D'Acampo in the Midlands and north of England.
