Gary Neville heads panel of speakers at Hotel Forum

Manchester United and England footballer turned hotel developer Gary Neville is to headline The Caterer's Hotel Forum, which will provide hoteliers with the tools and resilience required to tackle today's operational challenges.

Neville will share his experience of launching Hotel Football and the challenges he is currently facing in developing two city centre hotels in Manchester.

Joining Neville at the Hotel Forum on 29 November will be David Taylor, chief operating officer of Principal, who will speak about how he is injecting new life into a collection of iconic, city centre hotels so that they appeal to 21st century guests.

There will also be a panel which will explore what can be done to face the challenge of Brexit and the loss of hundreds and thousands of European workers that may follow. Andrew Boer, principal of the Edge Hotel School will be joined by leading operators who will talk about what steps they are taking to attract staff and, in particular, make the hospitality sector an attractive career option among parents and schools.

Meanwhile, senior figures from the hotel industry, Metropolitan Police and COBRA will share insights on crisis management and explore the threat posed by terrorism and unforeseen events such as fire and food poisoning.

Hotel consultant Russell Kett from HVS, who this week has been presented with the Hotel Investment Conference Europe Hall of Fame Award, will also explore the current performance of the hotel sector and provides a forecast for 2018.

The Hotel Forum will take at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London. To book tickets, visit the Hotel Forum website.
