Cyril Baligand has been appointed general manager of Frenchie Covent Garden, an outpost of chef Gregory Marchand's restaurant group.
He joins the business with an extensive hospitality background including most recently opening French/Mediterranean restaurant the Ninth alongside Japanese-British chef Jun Tanaka. The restaurant was awarded a Michelin star and three AA rosettes within 10-months of opening.
Prior to that Bagiland held senior roles at Prescott & Conran venue Lutyens, and Pearl, the fine dining restaurant at the Chancery Court hotel.
Commenting on his appointment, Bagiland said: "It is a real honour to be managing Frenchie Covent Garden through its next phase of development. It is a remarkable restaurant in London and an amazing, established company with locations in London and Paris. I am proud to be part of such a beautiful family."
Former Jamie Oliver Fifteen chef Marchand opened the first Frenchie restaurant on the Rue de Nil in Paris in 2009, before launching the Covent Garden site in 2016.
