South West caterer Fosters Events has won a five-year contract and lease to develop three new dining spaces at Westonbirt, the National Arboretum.
Working in partnership with Forestry England, Fosters will provide catering to the half a million annual visitors as well as volunteers and staff at the site.
The first two dining areas, an outdoor smokehouse and a walk-in kiosk with an ice cream hatch, will open at the end of March.
The site’s existing restaurant will remain open for takeaway until the end of April, when it will be refurbished with a ‘forest garden’ design reflecting the land around Westonbirt.
All three spaces will offer vegan and gluten-free options and are expected to open to the public in full by the end of May.
“We have created three very distinct offers which will ensure that there is something for everyone, with Fosters premium quality and service always at the heart of it all,” said Neil Lodge, chief executive of Fosters Events.
“The team have taken so much pride in the awarding of this contract and what the arboretum means to the local community and the visitors of Westonbirt [Arboretum].”
Fosters Events’ other clients have included the Bristol Old Vic theatre and Bath Rugby Club.
