Florence Knight to leave head chef role at Sessions Arts Club

Florence Knight is to leave her role as head chef at Sessions Arts Club in London at the end of January.

She will move on from the restaurant, wine bar and gallery space two and a half years after it opened in an 18th-century courthouse building.

Knight led the kitchen at Russell Norman and Richard Beatty's Polpetto from 2010 to 2015, during which time it won a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and later worked as a food columnist and cookbook author.

Sessions Arts Club was opened by painter Jonny Gent and architect Russell Potter in 2021. Under Knight's tenure it received widespread praise from food critics and a recommendation in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland for its “unfussy and flavour-led” dishes.

Knight said: “My time at Sessions Arts Club has been immensely fulfilling and I hold so many fond memories with the team since we opened. I would like to thank Jonny for welcoming me with open arms and allowing me to be a part of building such a wonderful place.”

Gent said: “We would like to thank Florence for her time and dedication and bringing her wonderful cooking to our guests at Sessions Arts Club. We are so thrilled to have worked alongside Florence and are so excited for where this next chapter will take her.

“We look forward to welcoming our new chef in the New Year as we look to explore exciting new sites and ventures.”
