The property also revealed plans to add 12 spa treatment rooms and a subterranean 20-metre swimming pool.
The Varsity Hotel and Spa in Cambridge has completed a £1m refurbishment across its 50 bedrooms.
It now features fabrics and wallpapers from Kit Kemp, Colefax & Fowler and GP & J Baker, oak flooring, Hypnos beds, marble bathrooms with monsoon showers and some free-standing Victorian baths.
The hotel has also revamped its technology offering, ensuring each room has access to smart TVs, iPads, tablet computers and, in some cases, iMacs.
The Varsity hotel’s F&B outlets, Six Panoramic Bar & Brasserie and the River Bar Steakhouse & Grill, have also been renovated as part of the project.
Work will soon start on adding 12 spa treatment rooms, a new subterranean 20m pool, hammam (steam bath), sauna, and 30-person jacuzzi to the property.
The Varsity Hotel & Spa first opened in 2010 and in 2018 the property completed a £2m refurbishment of its 44 rooms.
