The all-day restaurant at London’s Savoy hotel will replace the century-old afternoon tea venue in November.
The Savoy hotel in London has revealed further details of its new restaurant, the Savoy Lounge, which is set to replace the Thames Foyer venue in November.
The Thames Foyer served afternoon tea for over a century under its signature glass-domed atrium and closed earlier this week ahead of a three-month refurbishment.
Once complete, the Savoy Lounge will open as an all day operation, offering breakfast, coffee, lunch, afternoon tea, a cocktail hour and dinner.
The new restaurant is being designed by BradyWilliams, which is installing modern lighting in the atrium, as well as a new central walkway, gold-embossed mirrors and patterned upholstery.
The hotel is also set to launch the Florist at the Savoy by head florist Belinda Bowles and a new scone shop, Scoff, in November.
An extensive refurbishment of the rooms and suites is also underway, with the first of these due to be revealed in August 2025.
The Savoy is a 267-bedroom Fairmont managed hotel, home to F&B outlets including the American Bar, the Beaufort Bar, and Gordon Ramsay’s Savoy Grill and River Restaurant.
It is also due to welcome Jeremy King’s relaunch of Simpson’s in the Strand, which was one of the first UK restaurants to win a Michelin star in 1974.
