Social enterprise business Fink Street Food has launched a crowdfunding campaign to convert a van into the Fink Tank, a vehicle that will be used to promote positive mental health.
The event catering business, which was launched in 2019 by this year’s Acorn Award winner Lewis Greenwood and co-founder James Reid, runs pop-up street food events in workplaces where it aims to get its customers talking about their mental health.
Fifty per cent of the company’s profits are used to support mental health charities, projects and initiatives, and in 2021 it donated £7,000 to support services in partnership with Woking Mind and No 5 Young People, a Reading-based mental health charity that provides counselling services.
Greenwood said: “Street food and meal-creation kits have seen strong growth over the last 18 months, with communities pulling together to support local independents that have a sustainable and ethical ethos.
“The Fink Tank will enable to take our concept further afield and to reach more charity partners and talk to hundreds more young people about good mental health.”
