ETM to launch new Broadleaf bar in the City

The pub and restaurant company behind the Botanist is launching a new bar and restaurant in London called Broadleaf.

Opening on the City of London's Old Broad Street next month, the ETM Group's, Russell Stage Studio-designed, site is inspired by Victorian tropical glasshouses.

The Broadleaf interior will feature natural woods, including a chevron parquet flooring, brass and copper finishes, intricate ironwork, botanical-themed walls and tropical taxidermy. It will have an open plan theatre kitchen, terrarium display cases and a feature tile wall, as well as an al fresco terrace with tropical planters.

The 200-cover, 500sq m venue is divided into two areas. On the ground floor will be a statement bar, with glass gantry and six copper beer tanks, bar stools and leather banquettes. Broadleaf will serve botanical cocktails, and a large selection of wines, artisan spirts and craft beers.

The upstairs lounge will have shuffleboard tables and two large plasma TVs for showing sporting fixtures. Live music and cocktail masterclasses will be part of a regularly changing schedule of events.

The modern British menu will be available for lunch and dinner from Monday to Saturday, and will include brasserie-style dishes and bottomless brunch on Saturdays.

The 14th venue from brothers Ed and Tom Martin follows the openings of the Long Arm Pub & Brewery and Aviary in the City, as well as Greenwood in Victoria. The group plans to open three new venues over the coming 12 months.

Tom Martin said: "Broadleaf will offer the perfect destination for after-work drinks, weekend brunching and private parties. We look forward to introducing Broadleaf to the area and welcoming plenty of new faces."
