The Hoxton has announced that it will open a 192-bedroom hotel in Rome in autumn 2020.
Located in Salario, a neighbourhood to the north of the city centre ad close to the Villa Borghese gardens, the hotel will become the 10th for the Hoxton brand and the seventh to launch outside the UK.
Ennismore, the owner and operator of the Hoxton, is working with Fettle Design to transform a 1970’s building with the bedrooms featuring local stones and lacquered timbers referencing mid-century Italian design. Some of the larger rooms will feature original Murano glass chandeliers.
Facilities will include a coffee bar and takeaway counter, restaurant, and outdoor terrace.
The Hoxton, Rome will follow on from the opening this year of three hotels in Southwark, London, Chicago and Los Angeles. The brand now has three properties in London, including those in Hoxton and Holborn.
Headed by founder Sharan Pasricha, Ennismore is also the owner of Gleneagles in Auchterarder, Perthshire, and Eynsham Hall, a country house set within a 50-estate in Witney, Oxfordshire, which is soon to undergo redevelopment.
