Emily Scott has closed her restaurant at the Watergate Bay hotel in Cornwall with plans to relocate the venue as part of a "new chapter" for the business.
The chef started Emily Scott Food at Watergate Bay as a summer pop-up in 2020. It relaunched as a permanent site in March 2021 with a menu serving stripped-back seafood and locally sourced ingredients, but had its final service on 30 September.
Posting the news of the closure on her website, Scott said: “I am so proud of what we have achieved here at Emily Scott Food from inclusion in the Michelin guide, simple, seasonal and beautiful cooking for [world leaders at the] G7 … and a place that I will always love.
“I am hoping to relocate my restaurant as soon as possible (I just need to find a new location) this is not the end just a new dance. I am lucky to have some lovely opportunities ahead and excited to be writing and working on a potential new book.”
She added that any customers with questions on gift vouchers should get in touch via her website.
Scott started her career as a chef in a provincial restaurant in Burgundy. She has since run restaurants including Browns and the St Tudy Inn in Cornwall.
