Eat CEO departs following acquisition by Pret A Manger

Andrew Walker, chief executive of grab-and-go chain Eat, has left the business following its acquisition by Pret A Manger earlier this year.

Pret A Manger acquired Eat's 94 UK sites in May and revealed long-term plans to convert as many as possible to "Veggie Pret" outlets.

In the meantime Eat sites continue to trade as a separate entity, with CFO Mike Rainer assuming additional responsibilities as managing director of the portfolio.

Rainer said: "I would like to thank Andrew for his leadership and vision over the last few years and I'm pleased to continue his work by steering Eat through the next stage as we integrate with Pret. The vast majority of our colleagues will be staying on at the combined group and our customers will continue to benefit from our creativity and drive for excellence."
