Dominvs Group has proposed to redevelop the Bath College Allen building into a 206-bedroom hotel, restaurant, bar and café.
Dominvs Group, a real estate investment, development and asset management company, purchased the site earlier this year for an undisclosed sum.
If approved, the development would count towards Bath and North East Somerset Council's strategy to bring 750 new hotel beds to the city by 2029. The site also has the potential to include gym facilities.
A spokesperson for Dominvs Group said: "We're excited to be able to be in a position to bring forward proposals for the redevelopment of this site which we feel can make a valuable contribution to this growing leisure quarter of the city."
People living and working in Bath will be consulted on the proposals at a public exhibition next week.
The hotel is one of a number of developments Dominvs is pursuing, with the 193-bedroom Dixon hotel set to open next autumn at London's Tower Bridge; planning permission granted for the group to develop a 132-bedroom hotel on Ludgate Hill in the City of London; and a 140-bedroom Marriott hotel in Oxford on the cards.
