Leisure operator CG Restaurants and Bars is to invest £1.75m in the expansion of the Dirty Martini portfolio with new acquisitions in Leeds and Birmingham.
The Leeds site located on King Street will be acquired from Atlas Brauhaus. The group plan to invest £800k in the refurbishment of the current restaurant and bar, which has a capacity of 250.
In Birmingham, Dirty Martini has agreed a lease with REI for a site on Bennetts Hill. The site was previously operated by Viva Brazil and an investment of £950k is planned to overhaul the current restaurant.
Scott Matthews, chief executive officer at Dirty Martini, said: "We are excited about bringing our portfolio up to 11 sites with the Birmingham and Leeds locations. Both have a thriving nightlife and we look forward to being a part of it. Our expansion in Cardiff was a huge success, and as a result we are progressing with our national roll out with confidence."
Ian Clark from REI added: "We are delighted to have let the Bennetts Hill, Birmingham site to Dirty Martini. The bar will make a fantastic addition to the area, which currently has a great restaurant and bar trade, and we look forward to an ongoing relationship with CG Restaurants and Bars. This deal was completed off-market and in just over a week and is testament to the approach that both parties took to make it happen so quickly."
The bar group currently operates eight sites across the UK including in London's Bishopsgate, Covent Garden, Hanover Square, Islington, Monument, St Paul's, Minories as well as Cardiff. Manchester is due to open later in the year following a £1.5m investment.
