Details of woodland spa at Gisborough Hall announced

Gisborough Hall in Guisborough , North Yorkshire, has revealed the details of its new multimillion-pound spa development.

Set to open by the end of next year, the woodland spa will include an 18m indoor pool, outdoor hydro-pool, nine treatment rooms, variety of heat experiences, gym and fitness studio. It will offer a range of spa days and membership packages, as well as providing the facilities to all hotel guests.

Around 38 full-time and 28 part-time will be created by the opening of the spa.

Kim Yardley, general manager of the four-AA-star, 71-bedroom Gisborough Hall, said: "Our Revival Zone spa has always been popular but it's just not big enough for the demand that we have.

"Our new woodland spa will overlook the beautiful Cleveland Hills in a secluded yet easily reached location. Our aim is to offer our local community and guests from all over the world a different spa experience and we hope to be open by next Christmas."

Nick Holmes, a non-executive director at Gisborough who was previously managing director at Rockliffe Hall in Darlington, County Durham and is overseeing the new development, added: "The spa industry is growing rapidly throughout the UK but particularly in north of England which already boasts some of the finest, award-winning spas.

"The hotel has a superb location and the addition of an outstanding spa facility can only enhance its reputation both regionally and nationally."

Built in 1857, the Grade II-listed Gisborough Hall was restored in 2002 by the Gisborough family, when it opened as a hotel. It was initially run as a Macdonald Associate hotel until April this year when Lord Gisborough took over the management of the property with a newly appointed board of directors.
