Delaware North acquires Prime Burger owner Magicgoal

Delaware North has acquired the company behind Prime Burger, Chicken Rotisserie and Sandwich & Co for an undisclosed sum.

The businesses were founded by husband and wife team Robert Tame and Sam Steele, who operated the five restaurants in London's Euston and St Pancras international railway stations and at ExCeL London exhibition centre as Magicgoal.

Delaware North managing director Doug Tetley said that the acquisition represented the start of the contract caterer's development of proprietary brands in the UK.

He added: "The Magicgoal portfolio complements our footprint in UK travel hubs and gives us an excellent base to deliver new concepts and formats in our stadia, exhibition centres, and visitor attraction markets."

Magicgoal managing director Robert Tame will remain with the business as part of the deal.

He said: "We've been an independent business for nearly 15 years, and we're proud of the difference we have made in the quality quick-service sector, the first premium burger brand to operate in a UK station.

"Being part of the Delaware North UK family means we will have more resources to continue to bring very good quality food to busy people on the move. Delaware North currently operates hospitality services at Wembley Stadium, Emirates Stadium and London Stadium along with airport restaurants at Heathrow, London Luton, Glasgow and Edinburgh airports.
