D&D London reveals plans for Bristol restaurant and events space

D&D London has announced plans to open a 13,000 sq ft restaurant and events venue in Bristol.

The 18th-century Friary building in Quakers Friars piazza in the city's Cabot Circus will be refurbished to incorporate a restaurant, bar, extensive private dining and an outdoor terrace.

The project will be D&D London's second with property development and investment company Hammerson, and is set to open in early 2020.

Des Gunewardena, chairman and chief executive of D&D London, said: "Following our Leeds openings, and most recently the launch of our rooftop restaurant 20 Stories in Manchester, our Cabot Circus venture in Bristol reflects our continuing commitment to expansion in the UK outside of London.

"We are very pleased to be working again with Hammerson and are very supportive and enthusiastic about its plans for the overall development of Quakers Friars."

Iain Mitchell, UK commercial director at Hammerson, said: "D&D continues to innovate in the restaurant scene and we are thrilled to have secured its first venture in the South West, which we know will be a huge draw for consumers and brands alike. D&D London has 42 restaurants in London, Leeds, Manchester, Paris, New York and Tokyo. It also operates the 80-bedroom South Place hotel in London.
