Daniel Roger has been promoted to managing director of Fattal Hotels Europe & UK following the company's Jurys Inn acquisition.
Roger, formerly managing director of Leonardo Hotels Europe (the European arm of the Israeli-based Fattal hotel group), will now also oversee the group's expanded UK portfolio as part of a management restructure.
In December 2017, Fattal completed the acquisition of 36 Jurys Inn hotels. The portfolio was acquired from US private equity company Lone Star Funds by Fattal and Swedish hotel investment company Pandox for £800m.
The hotels join the group's UK portfolio which includes the Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh, Leonardo Hotel London Heathrow Airport, and the five hotels it acquired from the Portland Hotels Group in Scotland last year for an undisclosed sum.
David Fattal, owner of the Fattal Hotels Group, said the takeover gave the group's expansion efforts "an enormous boost".
Jurys Inn will continue to be managed by managing director Jason Carruthers and the management team.
Roger joined the Fattal Group in 2006, and has since headed Leonardo Hotels in Europe, which under his leadership has grown from one hotel in Germany to 130. His new role will focus on integrating Jurys Inn into the Leonardo group. He splits his time between Berlin and London.
