Dakota Hotels is to open its first property in Newcastle in 2025, which will bring its portfolio to six sites.
The 118-room Dakota Newcastle will be situated on St Ann’s Wharf, overlooking the riverside promenade.
It will feature a two-bedroom Grand Deluxe suite, which will offer a butler service, steam shower, roll-top bath and a lounge. The hotel will also offer a Grill restaurant; Dakota Bar; Champagne Room and Cigar Terrace.
Andrew Ovenstone, managing director of Dakota Hotels, said: “Newcastle promises to be an exciting addition to our portfolio, and we look forward to bringing our unique brand of hospitality to this great city.
“These are exciting times for Dakota, and we have ambitious plans to bring luxury lifestyle experiences to destinations that matter most.”
Dakota Hotels is a partnership between former Hotelier of the Year Ken McCulloch and the Leeds-based Evans Property Group.
It opened its first 'boutique luxury' site in Motherwell, Scotland in 2006 and has since expanded into Glasgow, Manchester and Leeds.
Dakota Newcastle will mark the group’s third hotel in England.
