Daisy Green targets 14 sites by 2020

Australian all-day dining chain Daisy Green is hoping to grow the business to 14 sites by 2020.

Following a £3.4m debt finance deal from OakNorth bank the group plans to open six new sites over the next three years and expand beyond the capital. The next site will be a 4,000 sq ft space in Soho, designed by "several high-profile artists" and opening in April.

The business has eight sites in central London, including a pair of barge restaurants on the Grand Union Canal at Paddington Central painted by Sir Peter Blake.

Founded by Prue Freeman and her husband Tom Onions in 2012, the business has evolved from a street food trader to all day cafes and restaurants serving bottomless brunches, healthy lunches and dinner, live music and drinks.

Onions said: "The finance from OakNorth will enable us to continue expanding and bring our unique concept to more areas of London and beyond."

In a joint statement, OakNorth's Ben Barbanel, head of debt finance, and Deepesh Thakrar, debt finance director, described the business as "extremely strong", adding that despite it being a young company, its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (Ebitda) is already positive across its mature sites.
