D&D London 'continuing to review' its restaurant portfolio

D&D London has said it is continuing to review its portfolio following a report that seven of its restaurant sites have been put up for sale.

According to Propel, the locations on the market include London's 100 Wardour Street, Avenue, Cantina, and Blueprint Café, as well as Klosterhaus in Bristol, and Issho and East 59th in Leeds.

D&D was founded in 2006 and has since grown to 40 restaurants across the UK and internationally.

Earlier this year it was reported that Interpath Advisory had been appointed to launch a sale process for the group, which was estimated to be worth around £100m.

D&D co-founder and chief executive David Loewi said: “Our restaurants continue to trade well, achieving an overall combined £17m EBITDA for the 15 months since reopening post-lockdown.

“We own and operate high profile, unique premises so we often get approached to ascertain if we would be willing to sell or joint venture. Like all business in the hospitality sector, we continue to strategically review our portfolio.”

The company said its latest opening, 88-cover restaurant Orelle in Birmingham, had “exceeded revenue projections” since opening last month.

In September, D&D co-founder and chief executive Des Gunewardena left the business after 16 years to “pursue other ventures”. Loewi was appointed interim chief executive following his departure.
