Craig Jackson has been appointed general manager of Yu restaurants - once named best UK Chinese restaurant on Gordon Ramsay fronted TV show Ramsay's Best Restaurant.
Jackson, who stepped down as general manager of the four-red-AA star, 26-bedroom Northcote hotel in Lancashire earlier this year "to seek a new challenge", will oversee the two Yu restaurants in Alderley Edge, Cheshire and Copster Green, Blackburn.
He told The Caterer he was looking forward to the challenge of overseeing the modern Chinese restaurants' development to a fine-dining level of food and service. Planned changes include a refurbishment and the introduction of a tasting menu.
He added: "I am looking forward to moving to Cheshire and bringing my experience to the restaurant."
The restaurant group had earlier tweeted: "We are so pleased to welcome on board our new general manager - Craig Jackson. Craig has a wealth of knowledge and experience and has spent a number of years as the general manager of a very popular Michelin star restaurant. Welcome to the team!"
Yu Restaurants was launched by executive chef Victor Yu and brother Vinny Yu.
