Craft Guild extends Graduate Award competition deadline

The Craft Guild of Chefs has extended the deadline for submissions to enter this year's Graduate Awards.

Submissions for the competition, which has been won by 69 chefs including Roux Scholars, National Chef of the Year winners and Young National Chef of the Year winners, will now be accepted until 3 May.

The competition puts chefs under 23 to the test with a number of skill-based challenges and a paper examination as they look to secure the 85% pass mark needed to win the award. Judges for the competition, which is split between pastry and kitchen examinations, include chair of examiners Russell Bateman and pastry chief examiner, Will Torrent.

Shortlisted finalists will also be sent on a two-day event in and around the Cotswolds, where they will visit local suppliers and learn from industry leaders.
