Côte closes Lincoln restaurant

Casual dining chain Côte Brasserie has closed its Lincoln site suddenly, after two years trading at the location.

The firm reportedly invested £1m to launch the site but closed it this week with the loss of 50 jobs, according to www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk.

The business, which has just over 90 restaurants across Great Britain, saw pre-tax profits slide by nearly £4m to £10m for the year to 31 July 2016 - the latest accounts available for the business.

While many casual dining brands have struggled in a tough trading environment since the start of the year, it is not clear why Côte chose to close the site, or if more closures are planned.

The Caterer has attempted to contact Côte for comment.
