Cosmopolitan hotel in Leeds to reopen under Hotel Indigo brand in 2025

Leeds’ Cosmopolitan Hotel will reopen in spring 2025 under IHG’s Hotel Indigo brand.

Owner Belfont hotels has said the property’s 107-bedrooms will be refurbished ahead of the reopening.

Belfont hotels is a joint venture owned by the Thakerar and Dhamecha families. The Cosmopolitan hotel in Leeds was its first purchase in 2020.

Following the reopening, the property will be managed by Countrywide hotels.

Darren Patt, managing director of Countrywide hotels said: “The addition of the Hotel Indigo Leeds to the Countrywide portfolio represents an exciting time for our brand.

“With both the Countrywide and Indigo brands evolving into an upper-scale space, the opening of the Hotel Indigo Leeds in Spring 2025 will come at a perfect time.”

The refurbishment will include the creation of Banksia restaurant. The hotel will also have two meeting rooms available for private dining and group bookings.

Belfont purchased the hotel from Peel hotels for an undisclosed sum.
