Constantin Betianu has taken the helm at the 80-bedroom Best Western Plus Samlesbury hotel following Hayley Lane's departure.
The property in Preston, Lancashire, is owned by Squire Hotels, and joined the Best Western Plus brand in December 2016. Lane left the hotel in September 2017 to join Manchester airport's four-AA-star Best Western Plus Pinewood on Wilmslow hotel.
Betianu was previously a rooms operations manager with Marriott, and has also held executive head housekeeping manager and senior front office supervisor roles with the company. Before that he worked for Italian cruise line Costa Cruises.
He said: "I plan to utilise my experience to help the hotel grow and further consolidate our position as a leading provider… we have plenty of plans in place for 2018."
Jodi Masterson, managing director at Squire Hotels, described Betianu as "the standout candidate", adding: "We're sure that his qualities will help take the hotel to the next level."
The Best Western Plus Samlesbury hotel has one restaurant and eight meeting and conference rooms. Squire Hotels also owns Etrop Grange hotel in Manchester and the Hydro hotel at Windermere in the Lake District.
