London's Conduit Club to reopen in Covent Garden

London’s Conduit Club is to reopen in a new site this summer after closing its Mayfair location (pictured) last year.

The private members' club, founded by human rights lawyer Paul van Zyl and financier Nicholas Hamilton in 2018, shut its doors and entered administration in October 2020 after reportedly struggling with unpaid debts.

Its seven-floor site included a restaurant that worked with chefs Merlin Labron-Johnson and Leonardo Pereira and hosted guest dinners from the likes of Massimo Bottura.

Last week the team announced on LinkedIn that they have secured a new location in Covent Garden and are recruiting for several roles.

The post said: “We are delighted to let you know that the Conduit has found a new home in the heart of Covent Garden. We are already hard at work and we hope to open this summer, based on the pace of our renovations.”

The Conduit was founded in 2018 as an ethically focused club, designed to connect people aiming to promote social change.

According to The Sunday Times the business entered administration after talks to purchase debt owed to its bank MetroBank broke down. It is believed to have had more than 3,500 members.
