Those who sign up to the hotel group’s membership programme will be granted access to its co-working facilities.
Netherlands-based hotel chain CitizenM is leaning into the flexible workspace sector by opening up its properties to digital nomads and hybrid workers.
The group said its ‘living rooms’, which feature tables, sofas and art, will be available to freelancers, entrepreneurs and ‘café culture enthusiasts’ who are seeking an alternative to home offices and busy coffee shops.
Those who sign up for membership with MyCitizen+, which is priced at £90 a year, will be able to access any CitizenM property worldwide and use its co-working facilities.
They are not currently required to be staying at its hotels.
Members will also receive discounts on food and beverage, societyM meeting rooms and hotel rooms, as well as the option for free late checkout.
It follows the launch of Ace Hotel New York’s signature multi-purpose lobby in 2009, which functions as a co-working space during the day and transforms into a bar in the evening.
CitizenM operates 17 hotels in Europe, four of which are in London. It also has 14 in the United States and two in Asia.
The brand is due to open more hotels in Miami South Beach and Boston Back Bay.
Robin Chadha, chief brand officer at CitizenM, said: “We are seeing increasing demand for remote work and flexible working environments, and citizenM hotels are perfectly designed to serve these needs.”
“Whether you’re a local seeking a more inspiring, dynamic place to do your work, or a founder looking to scale their business to a new market and needing a homebase, our new co-working proposition, available through an accessible membership program, offers solutions for any type of guest or traveller.”
CitizenM first launched in 2008 at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport.
