Chris Denney back in the kitchen at 108 Garage

Chris Denney is back in the kitchen at 108 Garage just weeks after stepping back to focus on the wider business, following the sudden departure of successor Greg Clarke.

A spokesperson for the restaurant on Golborne Road, west London, confirmed that Clarke has left the business but declined to give any further comment as to the reason for his abrupt exit or where he is now.

"Chris Denney is back in the kitchen of the restaurant and will remain as executive chef at both 108 Garage and Southam Street," the spokesperson said.

Denney and Luca Longoboardi opened 108 Garage in 2016, followed by nearby Southam Street restaurant last year. The pair now have several projects in the pipeline together, including Home Noir, a members' club with 20 loft apartments, restaurant, clubhouse and roof deck.

Prior to joining 108 Garage, Clarke worked as a development chef at Daniel Clifford's Midsummer House in Cambridge, as head chef at the Typing Room restaurant at the Town Hall hotel in London, and co-founded pop-up restaurant Dead Rabbits.

He also worked as a sous chef at Tom Aikens restaurant in London, as a senior chef de partie at the Ledbury and at Restaurant Martin Wishart in Edinburgh, and as a chef de partie at Le Gavroche.
