The Art School in Liverpool has announced a three-year extension to its partnership with the Jockey Club and the Grand National.

Chef patron Paul Askew will continue his fine dining offer at the Aintree racecourse in Merseyside from April 2025 as part of the National Hunt horserace.

The chef has been bringing his Art School concept to the racecourse since 2022

Askew said: “We are absolutely thrilled with our relationship with the Jockey Club and to announce we’re continuing our wonderful partnership with them for another three years. Since 2022 we’ve proudly served the world’s greatest horse racing event’s patrons in the magnificent Topham House setting.

“Quite simply, there’s no other sporting event like the Grand National and we’re honoured to part of their story. And of course, showcasing some of the region’s finest produce and exquisite global wines helps tell the wonderful story of Liverpool’s food and drink ambition, creativity and stature too, in a perfect pairing.”

Dickon White, Aintree and north-west regional director from the Jockey Club, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Paul Askew and the Art School for the next three years. The Randox Grand National is a world-class event, and the culinary experience provided by the Art School enhances the occasion for our guests in an extraordinary way. Paul and his team bring a level of excellence that reflects the prestige of this historic race, and we look forward to welcoming racegoers back to Aintree and into the Art School this April.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Askew opened the Art School in 2014 inside the Victorian 1888 ‘Home for Destitute Children’ building. It now features a Lantern Room, Cellars Bar and Moriarty Room.
