Restaurant group Caprice Holdings will be opening its first ‘Harry's Dolci' restaurant in London Knightsbridge on 6 December.
In partnership with property company Cadogan, Caprice Holdings will open the first Harry's Dolci at a former Café Rouge site at 27-31 Basil Street. The restaurant will nod to the original Harry's Dolci café in Venice that has been open more than 80 years.
Hugh Seaborn, chief executive of Cadogan, said: "The idea of a ‘Harry's Bar' open to all felt a good fit for the neighbourhood."
Overseen by general manager Giancarlo Princigalli and chef director Diego Cardoso, Harry's Dolci will evoke the restaurants and bars of post-war 1950s-1960s Italy, with warm autumnal coloured fabrics and deep green accents, Murano glass and vintage brass fixtures. Art and photography will decorate the walls.
The new 2,850 sq ft restaurant has been signed on a 10-year lease and will have a 64 cover dining area, with an additional bar section and 46 cover terrace.
Caprice Holdings is owned by restaurateur Richard Caring, and operates brands including J. Sheekey, Sexy Fish and Scott's, as well as the Ivy Collection, a rapidly expanding group of new restaurants launched off the back of the reputation of the original Ivy in London's Covent Garden, which does not come under the Ivy Collection but is also owned by Caring. The group also recently acquired the site of Bruno Loubet's Grain Store.
Seaborn added: "There is much more to come over the next couple of years, from further independent artisans on Pavilion Road, to fine-dining restaurants at the upcoming openings of the Cadogan hotel, and the first Costes hotel outside Paris."
