Cameron House on Loch Lomond in Scotland will open La Vista restaurant next week, alongside a deli and food shop.
The site, formerly the Boat House restaurant on the marina, has been converted into a modern Italian restaurant with 138 covers. The restaurant will open on 18 March and a terrace providing an additional 120 covers will launch in the summer.
The restaurant will be overseen by head chef Mark Pawsey and will be open seven days a week, from breakfast through to dinner. His menu will offer authentic Italian cuisine divided into small aperitivo plates and cicchetti, larger signature mains, handmade pastas and wood-fired pizzas cooked in a Valoriani oven.
Cameron House has invested £2m in relaunching the restaurant, with interiors by BJM Design making the most of the panoramic views.
The site will also offer an informal ‘Mercato’ deli with a dining area for 50 covers. Guests will also be able to buy hampers and storecupboard ingredients such as olive oils, pesto, vinegars, cured meats, Italian cheeses and wines.
The new restaurant and deli is part of the resort’s efforts to scale up its meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) business to seal its position as a leading destination in Scotland.
Speaking to The Caterer earlier last month, resort director Michael Lavizani is predicting "impressive growth" in 2024, forecasting 85%-90% occupancy in the high season and significant increases in turnover across the business.
Commenting on the new restaurant, Lavizani said: “Reflecting on the rich history of the estate, the restaurant takes inspiration from the breathtaking vistas of Loch Lomond and the adventures of Tobias Smollett, the renowned Scottish author whose family once owned Cameron House hotel.
“La Vista celebrates the vibrant culinary heritage of Italy, curated by our skilled chefs and management team. Open daily to both guests and locals, we look forward to bringing a touch of la dolce vita to the resort.”
La Vista joins the resort’s numerous F&B offerings, including the Cameron Grill, the Tavern, the Clubhouse, the Monarch Room, Lobby Bar and whisky bar the Great Scots Bar.
