Calcot & Spa named Pride of Britain Hotel of the Year 2019

Calcot & Spa in the Cotswolds has been named Pride of Britain Hotel of the Year 2019 for "delivering outstanding hospitality in all areas".

The four-red-AA-star, 35-bedroom manor is set within 220 acres of meadowland near the town of Tetbury in Gloucestershire. Two dining options are available: the Conservatory, a fine-dining restaurant offering seasonal, locally sourced produce; and the Gumstool Inn, a village-style pub offering real ales and pub food.

Peter Hancock, chief executive of Pride of Britain Hotels, said: "Each year, our member hotels receive multiple visits by mystery guests appointed by the collection. Calcot & Spa was singled out for its exceptional hospitality among an impressive shortlist."

The consortium hit its self-imposed limit of 50 member hotels last week with the addition of the Royal Crescent hotel in Bath. However, the Arch London is due to leave at the end of the summer ahead of its relaunch, when it will cease to be an independent hotel.
