Specialist coffee equipment supplier Caffeine has opened a demonstration coffee shop which displays a large array of different machines for training clients across all sectors of hospitality.
The new demo coffee shop / training centre at the company's headquarters in Welwyn Garden City, London has room for up to 12 trainees with seating areas for discussion and advice. Training is delivered by expert baristas and covers everything from key coffee parameters (temperature, brew rate, grind size and extraction time) to milk stretching and latte art.
"There's nothing like hands-on experience to tell you which coffee machine is going to be right for your operation," said Justin Stockwell, managing director of Caffeine.
âMost pubs and bars will want a relatively small model and thereâs no point advising them to have a four-group traditional machine which would take up valuable space and wonât be working efficiently,â adds Stockwell. âDepending on how skilled the staff are, a small bean-to-cup or a two-group traditional unit will do the job perfectly saving you space and money.â
Machines at the new site include traditional units manufactured by Conti, and bean-to-cup models from Schaerer available for inspection alongside a selection of coffee grinders and other ancillary equipment.
