Buckland Tout-Saints hotel in Devon closes permanently

The Eden Hotel Collection has confirmed that Buckland Tout-Saints hotel in Devon will not reopen when lockdown restrictions are lifted.

The property, which closed on 21 March as the UK entered lockdown, had been put up for sale in 2016 and remains on the market.

The permanent closure came to light following its replacement in the Pride of Britain Hotels consortium.

The three-AA-star, 16-bedroom luxury country hotel in Kingsbridge is set in 4.5 acres of tended gardens and woodland, including a croquet lawn and helipad. The hotel features a lounge, a self-contained function suite and the Queen Anne restaurant, which holds two AA rosettes.

The Eden Hotel Collection consists of nine hotels, restaurants and spas. They are Mallory Court, Leamington Spa; Buckland Tout-Saints hotel and Bovey Castle in Devon; the Kings hotel in the Cotswolds; the Arden hotel and Arden House in Stratford-upon-Avon; Brockencote Hall hotel, Worcestershire; the Greenway Hotel & Spa, Cheltenham; and the Mount Somerset Hotel & Spa, Somerset. Buckland Tout-Saints was one of the group's first properties.
