Britannia Hotels snaps up Aviemore's Coylumbridge hotel

The 175-bedroom Coylumbridge Hotel in the Scottish Highlands has been sold to Britannia Hotels for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition comes less than a year after the property near Aviemore was acquired by American private investment company Starwood Capital Group, as part of a seven-strong portfolio of Hilton hotels for £135m. The price tag on the Coylumbridge Hotel at the time was £8.75m.

Situated in a 65-acre estate on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, the hotel features five restaurants and two bars, an adventure play park, two swimming pools and spa.

The Coylumbridge Hotel has become the 61st hotel for privately owned Britannia Hotels, which is headed by Alex Langsam.
