Brighton's Pascere restaurant to relocate

Pascere restaurant in Brighton has announced it will close later this month with plans to reopen elsewhere.

Posting on Twitter, the two-AA-rosette restaurant said the 30-cover site on Duke Street will be sold, with its last day of trading on 15 December. The team will run pop-up events until a new site is found.

Owner, Platinum Business magazine food and drink editor Amanda Menahem, wrote on the restaurant's account: "Our relocation will be to a venue that will wholly suit our offering and will remain true to what makes us uniquely Pascere.

"I am so proud of what the team has achieved so far at Duke Street. In the last few months alone we have received numerous accolades… Most importantly we created something special that people genuinely love."

The restaurant was set to open with chef Tom Griffiths at the helm last year, however Griffiths left just before the restaurant opened, with Johnny Stanford appointed to run the kitchen instead.

Stanford then left earlier this year to head up the kitchen at the Half Moon in Kidford, a West Sussex gastropub owned by model and TV presenter Jodie Kidd, and sous chef Ben Porter stepped up to oversee Pascere.
