All-day cafe group the Breakfast Club has taken on the former Polpetto site in Berwick Street, London.
The restaurant, slated to open next month, will be the group’s second in Soho.
Breakfast club owner Jonathan Arana-Morton said: “We can confirm we’re delighted to be opening a second cafe in Soho where it all began in 2005. It’s fair to say we’ve not been able to meet demand in Soho over the last 10 years, but rather than scale up in restaurant size the aim has always been to retain our original cafe, as D’Arblay St has a special place in our history.
“The Breakfast Club on Berwick St will stand on its own two feet, have its own charm but will have a few notable differences to our original cafe – for example it will have an alcohol license so we’ll finally be able to serve our Bloody Marys in Soho!”
Polpetto was put on the market early this year, with parent company Polpo later undergoing a CVA.
The company had also placed its Spuntino site in Soho on the market, with Sri Lankan restaurant concept Paradise set to move in.
At the time Polpo offered a £10,000 reward for securing a new site for the Spuntino brand, but there has been no news of a move since.
