Bossa, which was listed in the Michelin Guide, closed in February after less than a year of trading.
Brazilian restaurant Maroto is set to open in the former Bossa site, which closed after less than a year of trading in February.
Bossa opened in London’s Marylebone in May 2023 as a Brazilian fine dining restaurant with a sister venue, Maroto bar and lounge, underneath.
It was billed as chef Alberto Landgraf’s first UK outpost, headed by chef Nilson Chaves, who was head chef of Landgraf’s two Michelin-starred Oteque in Rio de Janeiro.
Bossa was added to the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland in October last year.
Now, Maroto is expanding to take up the whole space, with an opening date set for 11 September.
The project is being led by chefs Mehmet Talayhan and Mark Tolentino, both of whom worked under Ben Murphy at Launceston Place in London’s Kensington.
The pair will offer a “casual and relaxed” fine dining experience with nods to Brazilian flavours.
The à la carte menu offers dishes such as grilled tiger prawns with tucupi bisque, prawn mayo, and picante mango; Bacalhau poached in butter; and Aylesbury duck breast.
Each of the mains will be served alongside five sauces – spicy, sweet, salty, sour and umami – while side dishes such as feijao carioca guisado (braised pinto beans) and mandioca frita (cassava fries) seasoned with vinegar powder will also be available.
Maroto’s dining room features wood panels, neutral colours and an open kitchen with counter seating.
