The 131-bedroom Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa in Bolton has completed a £3m refurbishment two and a half years after being acquired by property development company Emerson Group.
Located on the edge of the West Pennine Moors, the hotel was operated under AccorHotels' Mercure brand until its sale by Amaris Hospitality for a guide price of £4.25m. Today the hotel is managed independently, overseen by Colliers International's Hospitality Asset Management division.
Allan Davidson, director, Hospitality Asset Management at Colliers International, said the investment from the Emerson Group should impact its long-term commitment to making themake the Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa "one of the premier hotels in the region".
He added: "The entrance to the reception lobby has been upgraded creating a more welcoming light and airy feel. This area has also been opened up creating an accessible walkway through to the Courtyard bar, restaurant and bedrooms."
Alongside refurbishment of all the bedrooms and bathrooms, new gym equipment has been added and the grounds have been landscaped.
The Emerson Group's other hotel investments include Travelodge properties in Stockport and Manchester Sale.
