Bistrot Pierre restaurant brand to launch rooms at Plymouth site

The French Bistrot Pierre restaurant brand is to open bedrooms opposite its outlet within the historic Royal William Yard in Plymouth.

Fourteen rooms will be launched in the Grade I-listed Residence 1 building later this year.

The design of the building, formerly part of the Naval Yard, will be led by Jackie Gillespie of Gillespie Yunnie Architects, which is leading the broader Yard development, retaining original features and including contemporary additions.

Rob Beacham, diretor and co-founder of Bistrot Pierre, said: "We are really excited about the opportunity to open Bistrot Pierre with Rooms in Plymouth. It's a model that has worked well for us elsewhere and the Yard is such a stunning place and so successful for us, it felt like the natural next step."

Emily Handslip, director of regeneration company Urban Splash, which oversees the Yard development, said: "I am absolutely delighted to announce that we have taken our relationship with Bistrot Pierre to the next level and that visitors will now be able to staycation at the Yard for the first time."
